Former Hawaii Warrior wide receiver John Ursua was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 7th round of the NFL Draft, 236th overall. Ursua was the second Warrior drafted this weekend, linebacker Jahlani Tavai was taken on the 2nd round on Friday. This is the first time Hawaii has had multiple players drafted in one class since 2011. That is remarkable considering Hawaii had only had two players drafted total since 2013.
Ursua caught 189 passes over the course of his career and totaled 2662 receiving yards in three seasons of action. Ursua joined Hawaii after going on a two-year Mormon mission, which might have contributed to his declaring for the draft as a junior.
