Seahawks address needs along the line of scrimmage with the re-signing of Lewis and Francis. Expect reinforcements to still come via the draft.
The Seahawks aren't waiting until the official kickoff of free agency to begin re-tooling the roster, opting to re-sign seven players - including starting center Patrick Lewis and arguably the most versatile member of the famed Legion of Boom, cornerback/safety DeShawn Shead.
Lewis was given a tender of $1.67 million, nearly triple the salary he earned a year ago. The third-year pro started the final 10 games of the season at center - with his improved play over Drew Nowak serving as one of a handful of factors sparking Seattle's offense down the stretch.
