A lack of touch and cold shooting to end the first half leave Colorado State with their third straight loss.
A softer touch is all that separated Colorado State (12-10, 4-5) from overtime with Mountain West leading San Diego State (17-6, 10-0) on Tuesday night. Like many of the Rams games this year it just wasn't meant to be and they fall to the Aztecs, 69-67, at Viejas Arena.
With only five seconds remaining, redshirt junior guard Joe Gillon (7 points) took Aztecs Winston Shepard's (14 points) missed free throw the length of the court only to miss an open layup that could have pushed the game to overtime.
