San Diego State is going with an inexperienced quarterback for Mountain West title game.
San Diego State's fears were realized on Sunday afternoon when it was officially announced that the Aztecs will be without quarterback Maxwell Smith and also defensive tackle Christian Heyward for the rest o the season.
Smith injured his knee in the first half of San Diego State's win over Nevada and it is feared that he has a torn MCL, and Hayward has town both his MCL and ACL.
Head coach Rocky Long made the announcement Sunday afternoon.
