The Denver Broncos are in the throes of a mortal struggle with the most formidable NFL adversary — the injury bug. Last week, 22 players were listed on the Broncos' injury report, including two running backs.
Ronnie Hillman has been battling a foot/ankle issue, but played last Sunday vs. Oakland. C.J. Anderson is dealing with an ankle as well and although he did suit up in Week 15, he did not see any snaps. He was kept active strictly for emergency purposes.
The Broncos also have Juwan Thompson on the active roster and Kapri Bibbs on the practice squad.
