Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Year a day in advance of Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif.
Peterson led the NFL with 1,485 rushing yards and tied for the league lead with 11 rushing touchdowns. He is just the third player in NFL history to lead the league in rushing yards after his 30th birthday and also joined Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith (eight) and LaDainian Tomlinson (nine) as the only players in NFL history to rush for 10 touchdowns in at least eight different seasons.
