Not one, but two Nevada Wolf Pack players earned Mountain West player of the week honors after their 41-31 victory over Boise State Saturday, the conference announced Monday.
Toa Taua, a 5-foot-9 tailback, earned the Mountain West offensive player of the week, while placekicker Brandon Talton earned the conference’s special teams player of the week.
Taua, a senior, strung together his 10th career 100-yard rushing performance. The Lompac, Calif. native rushed for a season-high 124 yards on 12 carries, adding a team-high seven catches for 44 yards. His 124 rushing yards was the most against an FBS opponent since he totaled 131 against Hawai’i on Nov.
