For the second time this season, Nevada quarterback Carson Strong has earned Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors, the Mountain West announced Monday.
The junior gun slinger completed 25-of-32 (78.1 percent) of his passes for 377 yards, a career-high six touchdowns with one interception in Nevada’s 55-28 rout over the New Mexico State Aggies. Strong became the first Nevada quarterback to toss for six-plus touchdowns in a single game since Mike Maxwell threw seven against UNLV on Oct. 28, 1995.
Strong had two previous games with five touchdowns — both were in 2020.
