Nevada’s Carson Strong chosen for Davey O’Brien Watch List

Nevada quarterback Carson Strong was one of 35 quarterbacks named to the Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class of 2020, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced Tuesday.

The redshirt sophomore, who has led Nevada to its remarkable 5-1 start, is atop the Mountain West in passing touchdowns (16), passing yards (1,973), passing yards per game (328.8 ypg), completions per game (28.5) and completion percentage (71.3) — each ranking among the Top-25 nationally. The 6-foot-4 signal caller ranks fourth in the conference in yards per attempt (8.2) and third in passer rating (160.6).

His 328.8 yards per contest is fifth nationally, trailing just UCF’s Dillon Gabriel (372.
