Say what you want about the transfer portal and one-time exemption, but at least it gives players the power for once. The larger issue, as Nicole Auerbach points out, isn’t necessarily the number of players transferring, it’s the limited amount of landing spots they have. College transfers are lumped in with recruiting classes and therefore count against the 25 player limit per class, meaning teams often have to choose between high school recruits and college transfers for those coveted spots.
