Friday night’s game against Boise State was a microcosm of the New Mexico Lobos’ season. There were a couple of bright spots, but for the most part it wasn’t good for UNM in the 45-14 loss that was the sixth straight for the team that now sits at 3-8 on the season and 1-6 in the Mountain West Conference.
Boise State started fast as Brett Rypien hit Sean Modster on the first drive of the game to make it 7-0. Modster would catch another TD later in the first quarter and the route was on.
The Lobos did see a bright spot in the second quarter when their offense put together a 10 play 75 yard drive capped off by Daevon Vigilant’s 1-yard touchdown run that got it within 14-7.
