The New Mexico Lobos were able to begin their 2019 campaign with a win. And then all of that was put on the backburner after the contest as their coach was rushed to the hospital.
Head coach Bob Davie was the center of attention after the game against Sam Houston State as he had what was called a serious medical issue, and he was rushed to University of New Mexico Hospital in an ambulance following the game. Coach Davie did provide an update for himself on Sunday:
“My family and I want to thank the UNM training room staff, first responders and UNMH — it is impossible to fully express our gratitude for your swift and professional efforts during a critical time.
