Colorado State has a new quarterback this week as head coach Mike Bobo is turning to Faton Bauta to lead the Rams against UTSA. Bauta came in for relief of Nick Stevens in their blowout loss against Colorado, and overall went 6 of 9 for 32 yards and led Colorado State to its only touchdown in the 44-7 loss to their rival.
This game the competition takes a step down taking on UTSA, but the Roadrunners are a pesky team and in the past few years have given teams issues.
Last week, UTSA played Alabama State from the FCS ranks so it is hard to gauge how good they are.
