Brian Dutcher has finally become San Diego State’s 15th men’s basketball head coach following Steve Fisher's retirement announcement on Tuesday. Dutcher has been present for all of Fisher's 18 seasons on Montezuma Mesa, and for another 10 years at the University of Michigan. Yes, he has served under Steve Fisher for an incredible 28 years. During the last six, he had been appointed SDSU’s Head Coach in Waiting.
