The 49ers will be sending two players to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii at the end of January.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - After going to the Super Bowl following the 2012 regular season, the San Francisco 49ers had nine Pro-Bowlers, tying the league lead with the Houston Texans.
With the team currently at 4-10 three seasons later, just two players have earned spots for the game Jan. 31 in Hawaii: NaVorro Bowman and Joe Staley. Injured left guard Alex Boone was named an alternate.
Bowman, making the Pro Bowl for the third time, is tied for the league lead with 136 tackles on San Francisco's 27th-ranked overall defense and 18th-ranked scoring outfit.
