Boise State tight end John Bates was drafted in the fourth round with the 124th overall pick to the Washington Football team. Bates becomes the highest drafted tight end in school history. Bates’ Boise State career was an interesting one. He was underutilized, but should be an effective NFL tight end with his size and athleticism.
Bates was the first Bronco selected and the second player from the Mountain West taken (Darren Hall from SDSU was first). Now we are on Avery Williams watch.
