Hawaii gets much-needed depth at quarterback with Cole McDonald. He is from La Habra, California and attended Sonora High School.
As a senior, he earned second-team all-area honors from the Whittier Daily News.
He also appeared in the San Gabriel Valley Hall of Fame All-Star Game. When the game was all said and done, he left with MVP honors leading the East squad to a 34-6 win. He threw for a touchdown and rushed for another.
As a recruit McDonald was rated as high as a three-star recruit by 247Sports.
