Impact forward Maxi Urruti successfully underwent surgery to the Meniscus on his right knee today.
Urruti, who has one year left on his contract with the club, is expected be out for 6-8 weeks and will miss the CONCACAF Champions League clash with CD Olympic in mid-December.
He completed 90 minutes only once for the Impact in its last 20 MLS matches in 2020 and was included from the start in only 5 of those games. The injury prevented his inclusion from exactly half of those last 20 matches.
As things stand Montreal will travel to Florida for Champions League duty with a very depleted squad, given injuries to Urruti, Shome and Choiniere, and the fact that players being released from the club have no obligation to play.
