Alphonso Davies has been suspended for two games after his red card in the 12th minute of Bayern Munich’s 4-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart at the weekend.
It’s the third red card of the Canadian 20-year-old’s career and he’ll now miss Bayern’s top-of-the-table showdown with second-place RB Leipzig on April 3 and the game against FC Union Berlin on April 10 when the Bundesliga resumes after March’s international break.
Originally Davies was shown a yellow card but following VAR review referee Daniel Schlager upgraded the foul and a red was shown.
The incident occurred on a ball returned to Davies from Robert Lewandowski.
