The Montreal Impact announced on Thursday morning that they have signed Matteo Mancosu to a two-year deal. The club signed Mancosu using Targeted Allocation Money.
The 32-year-old Italian striker was first acquired on loan from Joey Saputo's Bologna FC in Italy’s top soccer league, Serie A. He joined the Impact last year on July 3rd and got 3 goals and 4 assists in 15 games with the club.
His numbers in the playoffs were outstanding, in five games Mancosu got 4 goals and 2 assists and made him an instant fan favorite.
“We are very happy to have finalized this agreement with Matteo and to be able to count on his services for the next two years,” said Impact technical director Adam Braz.
