Schweinsteiger linked with the Impact?

German legend Bastian Schweinsteiger, 32, is leaving Manchester United, reports the BBC.

Schweinsteiger is Germany’s all-time fourth most capped player, with 120 appearances and 24 goals. He played most of his career with Bayern Munich, and the last two seasons with Manchester United.

Rumours began to swirl immediately after the BBC report came out, and it is said that Schweinsteiger could be on his way to MLS. The Montreal Impact is among the teams in MLS, and has previously acquired international legends including Alessandro Nesta and Didier Drogba. Coincidence?

A German international would be a first for the team, with Montreal usually drawing from Italy, Argentina, and francophone nations.
