On Monday morning the Montreal Impact announced that they have re-signed team Captain Patrice Bernier for the 2017 MLS season.
The 37-year-old Montreal native veteran also announced that the 2017 season would be his final season as a player, captain, and a Montreal Impact. Patrice started his career with the Impact back in 2000 and now 16 years later will hang his boots where he started his hometown, Montreal.
After the 2017 season is over Bernier will then join the Montreal Impact’s academy in a coaching role. This isn't something new as many former Impact players have joined the team after retirement notably Impact head coach Mauro Biello.
