A ban imposed by Marseille police on PSG fans wearing their club’s colours in Marseille city centre was yesterday rescinded.
The ban was announced to address a situation likely to occur today (Sunday) the day of PSG’s first-ever Champions League final.
But after widespread criticism the order was quashed.
Police covered their initial ruling by stating, “... there is strong animosity on the part of some Marseille residents, supporters or not, toward the PSG team, in contradiction with any sporting spirit”.
The order came into being due to disturbances in Marseille during PSG’s semi-final win over RB Leipzig.
