It’s not been a good tournament for Vancouver Whitecaps or their former Montreal Impact custodian, Maxime Crepeau.
Arriving with a young, depleted squad the Whitecaps have lost both games, shipping seven goals in the process and now first-choice ‘keeper Crepeau seems to be sidelined for at least a few weeks.
It’s been confirmed his injury is that of a fractured left thumb which will require surgery back in Metro Vancouver.
The injury occurred during in the second-half as Crepeau came out to dive at the feet of onrushing Sounders midfielder, Handwalla Bwana.
