Not too much news on Europe’s transfer deadline day involving Canadians, but one player on the move is Kris Twardek, Canada’s u20 Player of the Year in 2017.
Twardek, born in Toronto and raised in Ottawa, was capped at youth level by the Czech Republic, the country of his father’s birth, later declaring for Canada for whom he played internationally at u20 and u23 levels. He won two Canadian senior caps in 2017.
He’s been playing in the League of Ireland firstly for Sligo Rovers before earning a move this season (the League of Ireland calendar mirrors that of MLS) to the famous, old, north Dublin club Bohemians, where he quickly became a fan-favourite.
