The Canadiens announced this morning that veteran Tomas Plekanec signed a two-year contract extension.
According to Bob McKenzie, the deal will pay him an annual average of $6M per season, $7M in the first season, and $5M in the second.

The contract runs until 2018, and will secure a very important piece of the puzzle as the Canadiens attempt to line themselves up as legitimate Stanley Cup contenders for the foreseeable future.
