Toe Blake was a great player of course, a left winger, with a playing career that ran from 1935 until 1948. He was a teammate of Howie Morenz during the 1936 season and part of the famed Punch Line with the Rocket and Elmer Lach in the 1940s.
This is one of my Crown Brand photos, (I only have a few, which includes Morenz), that were issued between 1935 and 1940. Their size, at 7×8.5, makes them a bit bigger than Bee Hives, and these photos are nice. Maybe I’ll find a trunk full of them at a garage sale.
