The Montreal Canadiens didn’t have the best week, winning only one of three games. They did, however, end on a high note defeating the reigning Stanley Cup-winning St. Louis Blues 6-3. On October 9th, they faced off against the Buffalo Sabres, who won 4-5 in overtime up four players to three after Phillip Danault took a slashing penalty in the dying moments of the 3rd period.
Keith Kinkaid was in net for the Habs starting the first of two back-to-back games. Buffalo’s power play was far too lethal to withstand, converting on 2 of their 5 power plays.
