After a devastating 5-4 loss to the Phantoms the previous night, the IceCaps didn’t fare much better on Wednesday. For the second night in a row, the St. John’s IceCaps allowed a late third period goal that cost them the game.
The night got off to a head-scratching start when it was announced that Nikita Scherbak was out of the lineup. Originally thought to be a healthy scratch, the team reported he was injured.
Even though the Russian is goal-less in six games, he’s had great chemistry with both Charles Hudon and Chris Terry on the top line.
