Last Saturday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers didn’t go so well for Brett Lernout. The Montreal Canadiens gave him an opportunity to play in the second half of a back-to-back on the bottom pair with Joe Morrow, and the 22-year-old had a difficult time.
Not only was there an obvious issue with his skates and his kept blowing wheels all over the ice, but there were a lot of plays where Lernout didn’t look sharp. Lernout finished the game a -1 and saw 14:43 of ice time. The Habs quickly sent the defencemen back to the AHL which seemed a little cruel at first.
