It’s a fact that the Montreal Canadiens always perform poorly when taking the plane to California during the season. Their Canadian West Coast trip was similar when it came to how the Habs played, but they managed to get two wins out of the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks. However, that was closer to the beginning of the season when the NHL was still trying to figure out who the Montreal Canadiens were exactly. The team needed results in California with the playoffs approaching, and they failed to do so.
Montreal went 1-2 over the three-game trip defeating the Los Angeles Kings while losing to the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks.
