The Montreal Canadiens displayed a convincing performance in Ottawa on Thursday night. At some points in the game, the Senators were unable to get the puck out of their own zone, with Montreal cycling it around as if they were on a power play, often while Montreal’s fourth line was on the ice.
The fourth line really blew me away last night. They were easily the most consistent and the most threatening of our four lines. Seemingly every time they stepped out on the ice, they created scrappy scoring chances.
I must say, I was not initially pleased with the fact that Claude Julien took out Matthew Peca and put Nicolas Deslauriers back in the lineup as Peca’s speed was a real factor in Tuesday’s game.
