With Sweden’s World Junior Championship squad having been released, we had a chance to speak with Montreal Canadiens prospect Jacob Olofsson about the role he’ll have on the team, as well as his current offensive outburst. Olofsson has nine points (2G, 7A) in his last 11 games in the SHL and has found a vein of production that he hopes to keep tapping during a championship where the coach should lean on Olofsson for an offensive role.
Coach Tomas Montén is looking for revenge after the early exit in last year’s tournament, and has assembled the best team he can — though not always with the best players (Arizona prospect Victor Söderström was left off the squad, for example).
