Coming off two mid-week wins against the Syracuse Crunch, the St. John's IceCaps, led by rookie goaltender, Zachary Fucale, headed into Saturday night's game versus Toronto looking to extend the winning streak.
Fucale produced arguably his best performance of the season, making 32 saves, in a game where the home team was dominated in from the opening puck drop. Andrew Campbell opened the scoring for the Marlies in the first period. Although they outshout the IceCaps, that was the only offence Toronto would capitalize on in the game.
Victor Bartley, who was recently acquired from the Nashville Predators, scored his first goal of the season in the second period.
