Sarah Lefort hadn’t scored in Les Canadiennes’ first three games, but that slow start came to a halt on Sunday. Lefort scored two goals against the Markham Thunder, including the overtime winner as Montreal won their fourth straight game.
It was the second straight day that Montreal and Markham went to overtime, and Les Canadiennes were able to complete the sweep with a 3-2 victory.
Cathy Chartrand, who scored the only goal on Saturday opened the scoring at 13:53 of the first period.
Markham would get it right back when Jamie Lee Rattray scored her league-leading fifth goal of the season just over three minutes later.
