Tobie Paquette-Bisson’s point shot deflected off of Cole Caufield’s skate and went past Ian Scott to serve as the eventual game-winning goal as the Laval Rocket beat the Toronto Marlies 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
It was Caufield’s second game-winning goal in two games. Vasily Demchenko made 19 saves for his first career AHL win.
Laval opened the scoring just over five minutes into the game when Laurent Dauphin fired a one-timer from the right circle past Scott after a great backhand pass by Rafaël Harvey-Pinard. Dauphin also had the game’s best chance in the opening minutes, but couldn’t get the puck past the Marlies goaltender.
