BROSSARD – Habs hopefuls got a first taste of life in the big leagues on Sunday morning.
After undergoing a variety of tests on Saturday, the 43 players on-hand at the Canadiens' development camp in Brossard hit the Bell Sports Complex ice for the first time, each taking a significant step towards a season in the pros.
That was notably the case for Michael McCarron, who wrapped up his Junior career last spring by hoisting the Memorial Cup in Quebec City.
"It's going to be my first contact with professional hockey this year. Montreal is a city with a championship attitude, and all of the guys here are coming from winning teams," noted the Canadiens' first pick from the 2013 NHL Draft, adding that he's also ready for a stint with the IceCaps while he vies for a spot with the big club.
