Eric Engels is reporting that extension talks between the Habs and veteran defender Andrei Markov are currently at a standstill.
Indications are he's going to market. Wants two years, appears to be sticking his guns on that front.

The sticking issue appears to be the term. Markov was reportedly looking for a two-year deal, and seeing as the Canadiens have to navigate Carey Price’s new contract next season, they’re likely pushing for a one-year deal from the lifetime member of the Canadiens.
To add a little fuel to the fire, Markov is currently training beach side, while Sergei Berezin records his exploits.
