MONTREAL – On Saturday, the Canadiens announced that forward Tomas Fleischmann had been invited to training camp on a professional tryout contract.
A second-round pick of the Detroit Red Wings back in 2002, Fleischmann split the 2014-15 campaign between the Florida Panthers and the Anaheim Ducks, amassing eight goals and 17 points in 66 regular season games. He also registered one assist in six playoff games with the Ducks this past season.
The Koprivnice, Czech Republic native boasts 123 goals and 310 points in 581 career NHL games with the Washington Capitals, Colorado Avalanche, Panthers and Ducks.
