OBITUARY
Montreal Canadiens legend Dickie Moore left this world on Dec. 19, 2015 at 2:12 pm departing with the same quiet grace with which he lived his full, remarkable life. He was 84.
Dickie was a product of Montreal’s blue-collar Park Extension district, one of 10 children, who shrugged off serious injuries as a youth to become a tremendous hockey player. He won Memorial Cup junior championships with the Montreal Royals in 1949 and the Montreal Junior Canadiens in 1950, then graduated to the NHL Canadiens in 1951.
Dickie would win six Stanley Cups during a 12-season Habs career through 1963, a ferocious checker with a nose for the net.
