Josh Beneteau of Sportsnet: Teams are calling Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin about Max Pacioretty according to Elliotte Friedman.
Friedman said that some teams that may not want to get involved in free agency are inquiring.
Pacioretty has a year left on his deal. Some teams are asking if they could get a contract done to ensure that they get more than one year out of Pacioretty.
“I think (teams) are also wondering… what he might want as an extension,” Friedman said. “So I think there’s been some asking about the possibility for a sign-and-trade for Pacioretty.
