Morgan Ellis' breakthrough season with the IceCaps has hit another high note. With efensman, Mark Barberio, staying with the Montreal Canadiens, the AHL needed to name a replacement for the upcoming All-Star Game, which takes place in Syracuse, this weekend. Step forward, Morgan Ellis.
Ellis, who spent most of last season with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, was finally given an opportunity to play big minutes by head coach Stefan Lefebvre, and he's taken full advantage. The 23-year-old has already set a career high with 10 goals thus far, with 34 games still remaining this season.
