The 2018 offseason has been dedicated to revamping the managerial within the Montreal Canadiens organization. Dominique Ducharme and Luke Richardson were brought in to replace J.J. Daigneault and Dan Lacroix while Jöel Bouchard took over for Sylvain Lefebvre as head coach of the AHL team. Additionally, Rick Dudley, who served as the team’s assistant general manager and senior vice president of hockey operations, chose to step down and join the Carolina Hurricanes.
The future of the position has some mystery around it. Marc Bergevin said in the team-released memo on the news that Dudley’s role will not be replaced within the hockey management group.
