After signing Tomas Plekanec, Matthew Peca, and Xavier Ouellet, the Montreal Canadiens turned their sights to the AHL. Seven players destined to play for the Laval Rocket next season were brought on. Some of them, in particular, Kenny Agostino, had an interesting track record in their previous years of professional experience.
Agostino was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft 140th overall (seven spots ahead of Brendan Gallagher). The New Jersey native was committed to attending Yale University and did so for four years.
