Training camp had a lot of shocking moments for the Montreal Canadiens. Max Domi getting suspended blew up and Jesperi Kotkaniemi making the team was a reassuring nod to the future, but Karl Alzner not making the team was a positive surprise.
Alzner was looking to change his perception in the city after a poor debut season with the Habs, and unfortunately for him, he didn’t get the chance. The veteran made the team but had his ironman streak end as he was a healthy scratch. No one thought it would be possible for the Montreal Canadiens not to play Alzner given his contract.
