Montreal Canadiens: Victor Mete named player of the game

It’s a win for Canada in their first game of the World Juniors. Montreal Canadiens prospects Victor Mete and Joni Ikonen took to the ice on Buffalo, but the former got the edge in this one. Canada won the game 4-2 against Finland, and it’s a step in the right direction on their journey to World Junior gold.

Mete was named ‘Player of the Game’ for Canada after tallying up two assists in the team’s victory. Ironically, Evander Kane was the one to give him the honour. Ikonen unfortunately (well kind of) was left off the scoresheet in Finland’s loss but still played a decent game.
