Montreal Canadiens fans don’t get a lot of breaking news in the month of August, so here at A Winning Habit, we’ll be counting down our picks for the top 31 prospects currently in the Habs organization. Each player was carefully deliberated by our writers and ranked accordingly. Today, we’re onto the 16th-ranked player, William Trudeau.
After a fantastic professional rookie season, Trudeau was a bright spot on the Rocket roster and showed fantastic two-way play. His growth from one season to the next continued from his junior career over to his professional career. The 2021 fourth-round selection (113th overall) scored 8-36-44 totals in 68 games during his draft-plus-one season, before displaying playoff prowess, by way of 11 points (7g and four assists) in 14 QMJHL playoff games.
