The Montreal Canadiens broke their five-game losing streak by defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday night in a shootout. Out of all teams for them to beat, the Lightning were probably the last on a lot of people’s list. However, the Habs had an amazing game save for a little penalty trouble in the first period.
It also helped that Carey Price was an absolute beast. We can usually expect that from him every game, but that, in particular, was something special. Price was beaten early in the second period after Nikita Kucherov got a shot past him through traffic, but it was feathers for the Lightning for the rest of the game.
