Ahead of Tuesday’s game, the Montreal Canadiens surprised many by calling up both Michael McCarron and Nikita Scherbak. With the move came a shuffling of the lines that found Byron and Lehkhonen flanking Jonathan Drouin.
The new first line means that Max Pacioretty and Alex Galchenyuk will be with other players for the time being. The talk of the town has been Galchenyuk’s demotion back down to the fourth line.
With the Montreal Canadiens currently averaging 1.5 goals per game, fans are begging for offence. Because of this, the team’s decision to bury Galchenyuk on the fourth line hasn’t sat well with many people.
