Montreal Canadiens sign Ryan Poehling to two-year contract

The Montreal Canadiens have signed Ryan Poehling to a two-year contract.

The first year of the contract is a two-way contract in which Poehling will earn $750,000 at the NHL level, and $225,000 in the AHL. The second year is a one-way NHL contract for $750,000, which is what his NHL cap hit would be.

Poehling was the team’s first-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. He scored three goals and added the shootout winner against the Toronto Maple Leafs in his NHL debut, but since then has one goal and one assist in 27 games.
